With lake residents starting, or soon to be starting, to open up camps and return for the summer, our neighbor, Empire State Mines has reached out to give our community a status update on this stage of their open pit project.

This project continues, but some residents may have noticed a slow down in work. That is because the work happening now is currently "behind the scenes" with Empire State Mines and DEC working through the permitting process together. The project has not been stopped or denied…it is just moving through the paperwork process needed at this point.
