On August 11, 2014, Gale Ferguson presented a History ("His-Story") of Sylvia Lake at the Fowler Town Beach. It was an excellent turnout, as you can see from the photo. Ferg's father, Charlie Ferguson compiled the first history in a booklet which was published in 1956. There have been two subsequent publications about Sylvia Lake. The first, in 1980, Sylvia Lake 1800-1980, published by the Pendell Publishing Company and the most recent, published by the Sylvia Lake Association in 2007, called Sylvia Lake Legacy.

The event was so successful, we hope the Town of Fowler will sponsor it again next year. Thank you to Natalie Spilman, Town Board member, who organized the evening.
