Water flow has traditionally been managed by the Water Management Committee of the Sylvia Lake Association. In April, 2021, Bill Cook (a member of the committee) and daughter, Elissa, rebuilt the wooden dam. This past summer, Gale Ferguson and Greg Kirby worked on a new metal bracket design in collaboration with Empire State Mines. Greg connected with the mines and they built the new heavy steel brackets to the design specs. Thank you to Empire Mines for donating the brackets.

Greg Kirby obtained the needed hardware, tools, and generator for the install and Greg, Josh, and Braiden Kirby ( 3 Generations) successfully removed the old brackets and installed the new brackets on 8/14/22. Thank you to the Kirbys for some fine work.

Greg Kirby, Bill Cook, and Mike Hatch have offered to monitor the management of the board placement moving forward. Of course with input from Gary Scott and the SLA board's Water Management committee.
