Beaver Problems
Spring, 2005 - Beavers, like all living creatures, struggle to survive and reproduce. For beavers, that means stopping moving water. That simple mission produces a chain of ecological events which can become a real problem for Sylvia Lake property owners.
In an email on May 4, 2005, Gale Ferguson writes:
"After noting that there was no flow from the lake at the dam I checked things down stream and found our friends the beavers had the outlet totally blocked at the site of the Big Boom. Opened up a section of the beaver dam Sunday, but they had rebuilt by Wednesday. Only took about 20 minutes to get a good flow going."
(Sylvia wonders how long it took the beavers to restore it... )
