9th Nori Grout Memorial Regatta
The 9th Annual Nori Grout Regatta was held on August 13th at 2:00.
OVERVIEW:
All motorized boats were asked to limit activity and avoid the course during the race.
The race began just off the East Shore near Indian Head. The starting line was between the buoy and the committee boat. All boats are asked to check in with the committee boat by 1:45. There will be horns at 5 min, 2 min, and 1 min, followed by a longer starting horn. The race will consist of three legs, the first buoy will be near the beach/Wintergreen Bay, the second buoy will be near the old Hotel, and the third buoy will be in Parker's Bay. The finish line will be between the starting buoy and the committee boat.
RULES:
All Sailors must wear flotation devices.
All sailors who begin the race in a boat must be in the boat when it crosses the finish line.
If a boat crosses the starting line before must be in the boat when it crosses the finish line.
If a boat crosses the starting line before the final horn, it must circle back and cross it again after the final horn.
If a boat hits a buoy, the boat must circle back and clear the buoy again.
Collisions will disqualify the responsible boat.
Awards and festivities followed the race at 4 pm on the Sprague's dock (South Shore near the inlet).
