In 2023, the 41st Ferguson Family Fishing Derby will be the "Last Cast." For the past 40 years, Gale Ferguson and his sisters have organized the Charlie Ferguson Fishing Derby in honor of their father. The derby started with Roger and Marilyn LaPierre and the Ferguson family has carried on for the subsequent 39 years. With Gale's passing on July 23, 2022 at University Hospital in Syracuse, this will be the "last cast" for the derby.

The lake community has valued this event as a staple of our lake life, but its time has come to an end. We thank the Ferguson family for their efforts and the Force family for always providing the trophies for the event. The "Last Cast" will be on July 3 and 4, 2023. Thanks for the memories.
