23th Charlie Ferguson Fishing Derby

The Annual Charlie Ferguson Memorial Fishing Derby, established in 1982, was a outstanding success with excellent weather and many families participating. Many thanks to the Corbett camp and Joe Lacks for special gifts for the participants and the Force family for the trophies. As always, Charlie Ferguson's children, Gale, Kathy, and Charlene, managed the event.

Almost 900 Rock Bass were entered with the Spilman Camp capturing the trophy for most fish with 227 caught on day one. Jimmy Harter of the Orford camp landed the largest bass and his cousin Matthew Orford was the youngest fisherman. Both cousins are avid fisherman, taking after their parents. The Force camp reclaimed two trophies with Sierra leading the trout division and Brittney entering the largest Rock Bass.
