The Town of Fowler maintains a brush and yard waste drop-off on the Sullivan Road for yard waste ONLY. The site is always locked. You must give Randy Durham a call at 315-222-6797 to arrange a drop-off. (This may be the last year for this service if no one uses it.)

Patricia M. Klock (West Shore) passed away on March 1, 2023, fifteen days short of her 96th birthday.

The Klock family will be having a funeral Mass and burial at St. James Catholic Church and the old Catholic cemetery for Pat Klock. Mass begins at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 1st. After the burial, we welcome people to stop in at our camp for fellowship and refreshments. (#11 West Shore Rd.)

Sadly, we've lost another of our Sylvia Lake elders. Dr. W. Barton (“Bart”) Van Slyke, 97, died peacefully at home in Watertown, NY on January 12, 2023.

He was born in Gouverneur, NY on August 16, 1925. Bart and Ann built their Sylvia Lake cottage in 1960 where family and friends have enjoyed many happy summer days. “Camp” was a place where Bart often displayed his prowess as a truly inventive handyman and a diving board backflip expert. Condolences to Bart's family and many friends. Read his wonderful obituary here.

National Weather Service Cold Water Safety Message

The warm air temperatures this weekend in the upper 70s to mid-80s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures, which are currently only around 50 across our region. Cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water.

When water temps are below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could lose dexterity within minutes. Use extreme caution for pets, children, and anyone in the water.
