NY State Boating Safety course will be taught on Friday, July 16 and Sat., July 17 at the Fowler Town Hall. Participants must be 12 years old or older on the day the class starts. No fee for students 12-17 but $20 per person ages 18 and up.
This class is offered in partnership with the Trout Lake/Edwards area Rod and Gun Club. Please e-mail Ralph no later than June 29 if you would like to register.
In order to operate a boat in NYS without adult supervision individuals must be at least 18 years of age or have successfully completed a safe boating course and be between the ages of
10 and 18. Individuals less than 18 years of age who have not successfully completed a boating safety course may only operate a vessel while under the direct supervision of an individual who is 18 years of age or older. The required boating safety certificate must be carried by the minor at all times while operating the boat. (NYS Boater's Guide)
